I am a birth & postpartum doula serving Iowa City and surrounding area since 2011. I love my role as a doula and am thankful I get to do this work. I believe women should be empowered, educated and treated with TLC while preparing for their child’s birth and during labor. With education comes confidence in being your own advocate as I support you in your choices. That empowerment becomes trust in our bodies to do amazing things. It continues into the postpartum period as you find your strength and stride as a mother. I’m honored to go along the journey with you.
I believe self esteem and body confidence struggles are especially real for mothers but we don’t open up about them enough. Pregnancy and postpartum is an amazing yet sensitive time as our bodies transform and breathe new life. I speak on this topic as well as co-facilitate a bimonthly eating disorder support group.

I live with my husband and son outside of town on a couple acres where we can play and garden. I am the proud mother of a very busy, funny and loving 4 year old boy. He has taught me so much about birth and mothering. It was on my path to motherhood that I learned about doulas. It was in the early postpartum period that I knew it was the right calling for me. My family supports me as I support others in their parenthood journey. I can’t do it without them!
